Bristol Rovers £1000 Shirt Sponsorship Deal

With Manchester United just about finalising a £14 Million pound Sponsorship deal with an Indian Telecommunications company, West Country’s Bristol Rovers FC have come up with a brainwave of an idea for there own sponsorship deal.
Having come to dead ends with a few companies, they decided to run a raffle for business’s to buy a ticket at £1000 each and the winner will then become the shirt sponsors for the 2009/10 season.
2nd Place will have there name on the away kit and hoardings around the ground.
At first I thought that it was a little steep but all enteries that don’t win will then get a £700 Hospitality package later in the system.
I personally think this is a good idea and will not only generate a bit of interest in the club but will generate cash for the club. You only have to look at West Bromich Albion last season with no sponsor on the shirt in the Premiership! There comercial manager needs shooting!
The one thing that would turn a few eyes is the winners name or If a group of Bristol City Fans clubbed together, Imagine that on the front of the shirt ‘BRISTOL CITY FAN CLUB’
What are your thoughts on the competition?
