Lovell Soccer Tips on Buying New Football Boots
With most local Grass roots football ready to start over the next couple of weeks, its time to put the pre season’s boots in the garage and go out and get either a Classic pair of football boots like Adidas World Cup’s Or Top of the range posers boots Nike Superfly’s.
There are a few things that no matter what boot you want you should take into concideration.
1)How Comfortable are the Football boots, when you first put them on?
2)Check that they are not to tight on the width (Leather Football boots do give a little)
3)Check that the Football boots are not going to rub in such places like the heel,Little toe and also that the sole plate bends in the correct places.
You must also decide what sole unit to go with Moulded Boots, Studded boots or Blades?
Moulded Football boots are usually worn during Summer months for pre season and the beginning of the season, even though the studs are nearly the same depth as a screw in studs , the grip aint that clever in muddy conditions and the sole tends to get a bit clogged up with mud, making the boots more like Ballet shoes! Moulded boots are ideal for Hard Natural & Synthetic pitches.
Screw in Studded boots or Cleats as they are called in America, offer the player to change the size of the studs depending on conditions,Normally worn from September through to March.
Offering greater traxion on soft Natural pitches.
Bladed Sole Football boots were brought in with the idea that they offer the comfort of a moulded football boot with the traxion of a studded boot, this is the prefered sole of the Adidas Predator & Nike Vapor Football boots.
If you suffer from Blisters there are a few things that you can try, Try and get a boot with a larger number of studs on the sole, so that the pressure of the player is more evenly distributed across the sole of your foot.
Insert a padded instep into the boot insole and make sure that you are wearing the correct boots for the correct surface, not Astro trainers on a muddy pitch!
Failing that just slap on the Second Skin Blister Plasters!!
One of the Main problems we get with people calling about there boots is down to people that do not look after there boots, even when you spend between £80-£100 on a pair they need more looking after than a cheaper pair.
To Take Care of Your Football Boots .
- Undo the laces when you take the boots off or you will wear in inside of the heel through causing blisters.
- After a game remove the mud off the boot by banging them together or with a brush,Then wipe clean
- If the Football Boots are wet, leave to dry before polishing them, Don’t heat-dy the boots as this will dry out the leather and make it crack.
- Check Studs are tight
- Filling the boots with newspaper is an old trick but it helps absorb the water from the boots and keeps the shape of the boot.
- Keep the boots in a dry cupboard/ garage NOT a carrier bag in the bottom of your Kitbag, this casues Mould, which rotts the stiches.
